This week in Brazil, MU-JHU researchers are taking part in AIDS 2026, presenting their research and engaging with colleagues from across the global HIV research community. Photos from the conference capture MU-JHU’s presence at the poster exhibition and the researchers representing the collaboration.

Dr. Denis Kimbugwe is presenting research on antepartum maternal inflammation and growth outcomes among children who are HIV-exposed. Dr. Grace Ahimbisibwe is presenting a late-breaking study from the IMPAACT P1078 study examining changes in HIV-1 proviral DNA among women with HIV from pregnancy through 48 weeks postpartum. Dr. Brenda Gati Mirembe is presenting research on HIV service integration and its implications for adolescents and young people in Uganda, while Joan Nabwanuka is presenting findings on uptake of the Test and Treat strategy among adolescent girls and young women at high risk of acquiring HIV in a rural Ugandan setting.
