MU-JHU Research Collaboration (MU-JHU CARE LTD), in partnership with Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS), is offering Post-doctoral fellowships for Ugandan researchers engaged in HIV clinical trials.

The goal is to strengthen local capacity to design and conduct HIV related clinical trial research among;

• pregnant and lactating women,
• children,
• adolescents,
• young women and their partners.

It is supported by the Fogarty International Center of the US National Institute of Health.

Applicants should:

• Be Ugandan citizens
• Have a track record demonstrating prior research in Clinical trials, with relevant publications.
• Be Interested in training and conduct of HIV related research in pregnant or lactating women, children, adolescents or young women and their partners.
• Have a commitment to developing a career and leadership in HIV related clinical trial research.
• Proposed Research project aligning with the program objectives.
• Letter of recommendation from the employer or supervisor.

• Personal statement addressing trainee’s planned research career goals

• 2–3-page research concept related to HIV in the population of interest (Describe proposed research project and how it fits with this program).
• Letter of recommendation from the employer or supervisor sent separately to mujhu@mujhu.org, before the application deadline.
