MU-JHU Care Ltd is currently participating in the HPTN 2026 Annual Meeting, running from 17th–20th May 2026 as a hybrid convening online and at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, USA. The delegation includes Dr. Zubair Lukyamuzi Protocol Chair for HPTN 111); Dr. Sheila Bamwenyana ,Investigator of Record for HPTN 104; and Teopista Nakyanzi, our Community Liaison Coordinator.
On 18th May, Dr. Lukyamuzi presented the primary results of HPTN 111 during the Implementation Science session, highlighting findings from a study assessing the feasibility and acceptability of a barbershop-based HIV prevention intervention among men at risk in Kalangala, Uganda. On 20th May, Ms. Nakyanzi will virtually participate in a panel discussion for the Community Working Group plenary covering the discussion, HIV Prevention Implementation Science: Optimizing HIV Prevention Research Strategies While Applying Community-Driven Approaches.
The HPTN Annual Meeting is a global platform that brings together researchers, community partners, and stakeholders to share scientific updates, review ongoing studies, and define future HIV prevention research priorities. The 2026 edition featured plenary sessions, workshops, and collaborative presentations designed to foster innovation and strengthen partnerships across the HIV prevention research network.
