22-26 June 2024 | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Dr. Daniel Mumpe Mwanje represented MU-JHU at the 64th Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention Annual Meeting during which he had a chance to share an overview of our Birth Defects Surveillance Project.
His presentations were delivered in two formats;
- Oral Presentation titled, Efforts to Enhance Birth Defects Treatment, Research and Prevention by the Hospital-based Birth Defects Surveillance in Kampala, Uganda, 2015-2023
- Poster Presentation titled, Categories of Surveillance Staff and Their Crucial Roles in Establishing a Successful Birth Defect Surveillance System in a Resource-Limited Setting: A Ugandan Experience
These very informative presentations generated conversations around the scale of detection, prevalence and management of birth defects in Uganda and provided insight into what more can be done to support the health care system in Uganda.
