MU-JHU Care Ltd participated in the 2026 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections 2026, held from 22nd–25th February in Denver Colorado.
This year Dr. Flavia Matovu Kiweewa co-moderated a session titled, “Beyond the Virus: The Expanding Landscape of HIV-Associated Conditions” while Dr. Patience Atuhaire presented a poster on “TORCH Infections as Risk Factors for Adverse Birth Outcomes Among HIV-Exposed Neonates in Uganda.”
Also engaging with the global research community were Dr. Zubair Lukyamuzi and Dr. Denis Kimbugwe, contributing African-led evidence to HIV and maternal-child health science.
The HIV Prevention Trials Network 111 study was featured through two poster presentations. Findings showed that barbershop-based HIV services were feasible, acceptable, and increased men’s self-initiated HIV testing. The study also highlighted strong interest among men in Kalangala District in long-acting PrEP options, including Lenacapavir and future long-acting pills.
