Juliane Etima is the Director of the Psychosocial Support Division. She is a counseling psychologist with HIV management training through CDC/HHS HIV/AIDS fellowship program with Makerere University’s School of Public Health.
Over more than a decade she has dedicated her efforts to ensuring that young people receive holistic care with attention to their psychosocial and educational needs as well as their medical needs.
She also leads behavioral science research at MU-JHU and ensures that HHS funded research studies have strong community engagement, with high quality counseling and other integrated psychosocial support to ensure ethical conduct of research centred on the research participants themselves.
She has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young people and has supported the MU-JHU Young Generation Alive group to design, implement and evaluate programs for children and young people living with or affected by HIV.
