This year we had a  team attend the highly focused International Workshop on the Prevention and Treatment of Paediatric HIV infection with the overall objective to stimulate research that will advance prevention and treatment strategies for infants, children, and adolescents.

As part of our contribution to the workshop, Prof. Philippa Musoke gave a highly informative presentation titled, No Infant Antiretroviral Prophylaxis for Infants Born to Mothers with HIV Who Are Virally Suppressed . Additionally we also had poster presentations category by;  

• Dr. Patience Atuhaire  – “HIV Exposure and Neonatal Sepsis: A Descriptive Etiological Study of 4775 Children”  and
• Dr. Denis Kimbugwe – “Increased Risk of Stunting At Birth Among Newborns Exposed To HIV: Insights From A Birth Defects Surveillance Project In Uganda.
