Richard Brough was the Executive Director at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), College of Health Sciences, Makerere University from 2014 to 2018; and was IDI Head of Strategic Planning and Development from 2005 – responsible for strategic planning, resource generation, grants management, and monitoring and evaluation.

Dr. Brough’s professional background is operational research (PhD from University of Warwick, UK) followed by management consultancy in London.

Since 1992, he has worked full-time in institutional development, health services planning and strategic health program management in the South Pacific, Philippines, India, Uganda and Indonesia for a range of development agencies; and in both Government and NGO sectors.
