Welcome to MU-JHU Care Ltd, a research organisation with a long-standing history of clinical trials that have influenced health care policy globally. Our mission is to improve the health status of families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through research, training, prevention and care.

MU-JHU Care Ltd is a well-equipped research facility with study clinics, a research pharmacy, a regulatory affairs office, data management support and DXA scan services located along upper Mulago Hill road. This unique location allows us to work closely with Mulago National Referral Hospital, the largest and oldest government hospital in Uganda.

Our investigators have access to some of the best training in clinical practice and research conduct, working in an environment focused on innovation, excellence, collaboration and community engagement. Our Senior Management Team (SMT) is committed to providing an environment that fosters research excellence.

Our research grants focus on evaluating new preventive and treatment medicines for HIV/AIDS and its related diseases as well as vaccination trials. We are also proud to have long-running collaborations with institutions like Makerere University, Johns Hopkins University, NIAID ( National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) and NICHD (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development) funded networks; USA and Europe based institutions. More recently we have embarked on pharmaceutical industry-funded trials on long-acting medication for the prevention of HIV.

We are committed to advancing the practice of clinical research by mentoring a new generation of research scientists, conducting clinical trials with excellence and providing care and psychosocial support to study participants from our communities.

I invite you to explore our website, learn about our work and collaborate with us.
